"It's like standing in line for a ride at Disneyland!!"

Happy Monday Y'all! Just a quick update and a funny story...

The weekend was cool...I got most of the stuff on my "to do" list done...Friday night I spent at Suzy's...had a freakin' blast! My scrappin' mojo was TOTALLY in effect! I got 4 pages done that night...and get this - another 6 done on Saturday...I was on a roll & just couldn't stop! It's pretty rare that I get that way, so I knew if I stopped, I wouldn't start back up again! I should really get my pages posted here...they are sooo cute!

I didn't make it to Stockton this weekend, too much going on at the house & I didn't have a chance to leave...but it was a good thing. We got Markie's room done. YAY! Soooo happy to finally have one project done...and it only took a week! Patching holes (BIG holes) in the walls, new paint, baseboards (FINALLY!!), all new furniture...today the closet should be done. It's a trip...it finally looks like a "teenager" room...no more bunk beds!

Okay - so you're probably wondering about that title, huh? Well - on Saturday when Markie & I went to IKEA to buy his furniture, there was one piece that was out of stock. We called the Emeryville store to see if they had it, and they did. My son, being my son...had to have it...he was determined to get everything done this weekend. Well - he had to work that day & wouldn't have had time to go to Emeryville with me. So - I took him home & unloaded the furniture that I bought him, picked up Angel & we headed to Emeryville. Well, I knew that there was an A's game...but didn't think that we'd get stuck in traffic...it was already past 1pm. Don't the games start at 1:05pm and aren't people EVER on time? lol. So...I was pointing out all of the traffic that was getting off the freeway...and Angel says, "Man Mom, that's like waiting in line at Disneyland!" OMG! I could not stop laughing...just cuz it was so random, but oh so true! My son is a nut...I swear, my stomach was hurting from laughing so much! Now that I am typing the story, it doesn't seem so funny anymore...oh well - I guess it's one of those, "you had to be there" type things.

Yesterday was cool...did laundry, cleaned up a little, got my nails done, went to mall to buy Angel some shoes & pants, went to Target to buy more stuff...man - between the furniture & other stuff that I bought this weekend, I spent a shitload of money. lol. It's ok.

Hope you all have a good week...I say "you all" as if anybody reads this lil ol blog of mine! And if you didn't figure it out...33 days left! :)

I'll leave you with a "feel good" that my sister sent me...I like this one!

The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back! Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.

Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes their way.

Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.Live your life so that when you die, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Please send this message to those people who mean something to you, to those who have touched your life in one way or another, to those who make you smile when you really need it, to those that make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down, to those you want to know that you appreciate their friendship. And if you don't, don't worry, nothing bad will happen to you, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message...

Peace!
